Colorful Modern Wedding at Domaine de l'Etablière

Domaine de l’Etablière
France - May 2025

Some weddings announce themselves during preparations: you know by mid-morning that this one will count. E and A's celebration at Domaine de l'Établière is one of my favorites of recent years, for a reason that says everything about this profession: everyone, that day, was in exactly the right place, the couple, their guests, and a vendor team made of people I particularly love working beside.

A dream team

Around E & A that day: Mathilde of Hip Hip Hip Hourra for Art Direction and Wedding Design, Audrey Langouët, my business partner, on makeup, a gown created by Alice of Ecila Couture, whose work I adore and for whom I had the privilege of shooting all the latest official fashions campaigns, magnificent stationery by Marion of Papier Machine, and florals by Marie of Folie Douce Flower, whose vivid compositions gave the Domaine de l’Établière's Tuscan-style palazzo exactly the counterpoint of color it had been waiting for. When an entire team pulls in the same direction, it shows in the images: every detail of that day photographed as though it had been designed for the lens, because it had been.

Joy, morning to midnight

This wedding was a masterclass in continuous joy. Bursts of laughter on the bride's side during preparations, and tears; bursts of laughter on the groom's side, and tears arriving very fast indeed at the first look, when he discovered his wife at the foot of the palazzo. A superb classic car for the road, ceremonies rich in emotion, a beautiful cocktail hour in the park, and speeches during the reception that left few dry eyes, before a dance floor that took its assignment seriously until deep into the night.

Working in tandem with a videographer let us hold both registers at once: the documentary of the party, and the editorial frames the ochre palazzo offers at golden hour.

The ochre palace, accomplice of color

The venue deserves its own credit in this success: Domaine de l'Établière is the estate closest to my studio, the one whose light I know minute by minute, and its warm façades are the best ally a colorful wedding could dream of. Warm ochre does not fight with bold florals: it carries them.

At golden hour, when the walls ignite, Marie's arrangements seemed lit from within, and the portrait escape at peak façade, the quarter hour I reserve in every Domaine de l’Établière timeline, produced the frames this couple chose to print large.

Speeches worth their tears

One more memory this gallery holds: the reception speeches were among the most moving I have recorded, the kind where the room swings from laughter to tears and back within a single sentence. As a documentary photographer, speeches are my harvest hour: every face at every table is busy feeling something, and nobody is looking at the camera. E and A's guests gave that hour everything, and the gallery's reception chapter reads like a novel because of them.

Two days later, the ocean

Domaine de l'Établière sits fifteen minutes from the Atlantic, and this wedding played that card perfectly: two days after the party we met at the beach for a sunset session. The bride insisted on walking into the water in her dress, and we closed with family images on the sand, the newlyweds in the waves, evening light everywhere, the kind of final chapter no wedding-day timeline can offer. It is exactly the "ocean card" I recommend to every Établière couple, and this gallery is my favorite proof of it.
